I am glad to finally be able to see the grass even though it all looks nasty and soggy from the snow melting and the rain.
The kids have been surviving their ear infections like little troopers. So let's see what has happened in the past few weeks.
First, Amaya went for another treatment on her birthmark. (It is looking so much smaller) She has been scratching at it and irritating it and the treatment seems to be helping. Then a couple of days later Avery got sick. The little guy was still in pretty good spirits even though he had an ear infection. He took his round of medicine and then a week later Amaya was sick and it turned out that she had a double ear infection and Avery still had his ear infection. They were put on a higher strength antibiotic and apparently both had a reaction to it. So needless to say, that was another trip to the doctors office. They changed their medicine to something a bit easier on their tummies. We are still in the midst of their cycle of medicine, but so far everything is looking good and no more vomiting! I am tired of cleaning vomit out of my car everyday for the past few weeks. Ugh!!!!!!! And to top it all off Buck was sick during the same time. So it seemed to be a huge puke fest at home between the kids and Buck. Buck has been treated and is doing much better.
Second, they went for their 16month visit and received a few vaccinations and their ears are looking good after a few days on the medicine. The only down side is that they both lost weight. They are steadily putting the weight back on. Avery is 24lbs and 30 inches tall and Amaya is 15lbs and 29 inches tall. They are growing fast and pretty healthy.
Third, Amaya finally graduated to her big girl car seat--although she is still rear facing. She was too tall for her infant carrier, but still met the weight requirements. Now she is in a convertible car seat like her bub, Avery. Avery graduated to forward facing and absolutely loves it. Amaya may get to go forward facing by her 2nd birthday. :-)
Finally, they both look like they are pros at walking. Amaya has quite the vocabulary and she attempts to repeat everything she hears. Avery has a few words and is not as vocal as his sister, but he talks when he has something to say or a point to make. He loves the word ball and he likes throwing and bouncing the rubber balls. He likes books and climbing. He also enjoys cutting the rug--much better than his dad. Although, he has no patience and gets frustrated very easily. Who does that remind you of? Hmmmm........................ He will be some competition for his auntie Tara when he gets big enough to play Dance Revolution. ;-) Amaya enjoys much of the same as Avery, but she is easily entertained by the small things. She can sit for an hour in the same place and play with the same toy. She enjoys climbing as well and music. She likes walking in circles and talking. She also loves to eat just like her bub.
Sam and I are just trying to keep our sanity and stay awake. With sick kids, work, Buck, school and whatever else there is we just keep busy!!!!! How did we ever manage before children????? I know we slept and sat down for more than a minute!!! I can't even remember the last movie we saw at a theater.
I posted a few pictures from St. Patty's Day and other days. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
